A chief’s figure recognizable by the woven cedar headband and traditional cedar-bark skirt symbolizes the deep cultural importance of cedar. The chief holds up a young girl to remind onlookers of the importance of holding on to our future. Wei Kai Kum carvers wanted to acknowledge employment opportunities for Nation youth.
