The Community Wall is a vibrant 150-square-foot outdoor mural created through a collaborative paint-by-number project that invited the entire Squamish community to take part. Designed in traditional Coast Salish style by artist Tawx’sin Yexwulla (Aaron Nelson-Moody) and facilitated by Paintillio, the mural embodies the spirit of collective creativity and cultural sharing. The central figure, Snookum—the sun, radiates generosity, abundance, and light while also reminding viewers of the delicate balance of the environment and the creatures of forest and sea that sustain life. This work stands as both a teaching and a celebration: a visual reminder that protecting and honouring the natural world is a responsibility carried by all.
