Outstretched-arms welcoming figures.
Liǧʷiɫdaxʷ Peoples
Carved around 1998 and refurbished in 2013 by Junior and the late Mark Henderson, these welcoming figures with outstretched arms are a gesture of hospitality. The Thunderbird, a symbol of power, is one of the main crests of the Wei Wai Kum Nation.
Indigenous Tourism BC acknowledges that it is situated on operates on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation).
