Liǧʷiɫdaxʷ Peoples
Created as part of the ‘Route of the Totems’ initiative commissioned by the Department of Highways to celebrate the 1866 union of the colonies. Originally placed at the Tsawwassen Ferry terminal, returned in 2005. Bill Henderson recalls helping paint at age 16 and later restored it.
Indigenous Tourism BC acknowledges that it is situated on operates on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation).
